Do you have a place that is near & dear to your heart? A place where you always go to relax, unwind... rest your weary soul?

I never saw the ocean until after my parents divorced, then I would belong to my grandfather, father and brother for a whole two weeks during the summer in New Hampshire..Salisbury Beach.

There was no curfew, no chores, no one telling you what to do.... just a pocket full of coins for the arcade and a plastic bag for as many seashells that you wanted to bring home.

I was 8 and I met my first ride attendant.... he sure knew how to smile! Just as I was climbing into the go-cart, all the lights went out. Gasps, then silence and then the little babies crying... Choas... not me, Mr. Ride Attendant took my hand and walked me to the boardwalk. We ate some onion rings that were going to go bad since they had no heat lamps, so I didn't feel guilty for eating something that I didn't pay for. Life felt perfect, but isn't there always two sides to a story?

to this day, when I get restless and I can't think, I find the nearest beach and let the ocean lap at my feet and the sounds of the waves drown the voices... It is soothing and I can claim a little bit more of myself to hold close, to be grounded, determine the next step to take, path to follow, road to travel....yadda yadda yadda
